launched by Sen. Alfonso Diaz was aimed at reaching out to the 5,000 Filipino
workers in Palau.
The new radio station, however is not limited to Filipino audience, foreign
workers and locals alike also patronize the new station.
"Filipinos are music lovers. At the same time this radio station
is a means of communication to reach out to the Filipino community who
are scattered all over the island," Diaz said.
He said the Pinoy FM is also aimed at bringing the Filipinos closer to
home and that it has received positive comments about the station.
He said the local employers are happy that their foreign employees get
through their work easily by tuning in to the station.
He said that Filipinos help build the country and the radio program served
as a way of thanking the community.
Pinoy FM has expanded with several programs not only focusing on music.
Recently, the Pinoy FM features the Air Force Civic Action Team every
Monday night, and every Thursday night it airs its "love notes"
program.
He said the radio station is run by his able producer Imelda Aban and
helping out with the program is disc jockey Paul Kjeldsen.
Aban said Tuesday nights is scheduled for requests; Wednesday nights is
Original Pilipino Music and Friday night features jazz and classical music.
Diaz said that the station also gives out information on the Filipino
community activities.
