Flores posts back-to-back wins; Cruz, Alvarez prevail anew in MRA races

THREE riders picked up where they left off topping anew their respective divisions in the Marianas Racing Association’s second point race last Sunday at the Cowtown Raceway Park in Marpi.
Manny Flores, who ruled the 80-85 cc expert class in the first point race last month, finished ahead of two other riders in the weekend race. Flores placed first in both Heats 1 and 2 to earn 50 points.
In second place was Chris-Chris Alepuyo, who finished second in both heats and grabbed 44 points. Aaron Pangelinan placed third and had 40 points.
Duplicating Flores’ feat were Ellery Cruz and Shane Alvarez of the 125-250 expert and novice class, respectively.
Cruz beat four other racers in the 1250-250 expert division. She finished second in Heat 1, but recovered in the second and last finishing ahead of Glen Pangelinan, who settled for second overall.
In third place was Dave Celis, followed by Meagan Cruz and Jack Dela Cruz.
Alvarez outraced DJ Camacho in the 125-250 novice class to notch her second straight victory.
Other top winners in last Sunday’s races were Henry Camacho, Edinna Cepeda, Lorenzo Sablan, Britney Camacho, Sheanna Pangelinan, Nathan Quitano and Steve Sablan.
Henry ruled the B/B ATV beating Ton Ton Alepuyo, while Cepeda was the lone entry in the 60-65 class.
Lorenzo downed two other riders in the PW-80 division slipping past Patty Cepeda and Kijay Ada, while Britney outraced Sabo Ada in the Mini-ATV class.
Sheanna prevailed over Jordana Cepeda and Janece Salas in the powerpuff division, while Quitano was the lone rider in the 80-85cc novice division.
Steve won over three other riders in the 125-250 veteran class whipping Mel Cepeda, JV Veloria and Dave Burger.
Meanwhile, MRA thanked Mayor Juan B. Tudela and his staff, the Department of Public Works, Department of Publilc Safety/EMS, Department of Community & Cultural Affairs, Department of Public Lands, Department of Lands & Natural Resources, Division of Parks & Recreation, Pacific Trading, Power 99 and 101.1 radio stations, Kaultz Glass Company, Ericco/Maeda, Mr. Curtis Dancoe , Manny C. Quitano, John Q. Camacho, Chris Alepuyo and Henry Camacho for supporting the MRA races.
