THE Marianas Racing Association
has been invited to hold exhibition races on Rota during the Rota San
Isidro Fiesta next month.
In on email to the Variety, MRA secretary Eleanor Cepeda wrote the
MRA received a letter of invitation from the Rota Municipal Councils
Office of Mr. Anthony Quitugua, Chairman, for the MRA to join them in
this years Fiesta Celebration by putting on a show for the people
of Rota, during the Rota San Isidro Fiesta (Fiesta Lanchero in Sinapollo
Village) scheduled for March 10-11, 2007.
Cepeda said that MRA president Eric Cruz held an emergency meeting last
Tuesday and informed members about the invitation.
She added that they have an idea of the number of riders that will be
participating in the race.
The MRA official also said that Cruz will be working with Rep. Chris Ogo
and Rodney Mendiola of the Municipal Councils Office to finalize
details with respect to the race.
Cruz and rider Henry Camacho will be leaving for Rota before the races
start to inspect and evaluate the site.
A 40-foot container van will be available to load the bikes today at Ericcos
office.
With MRA holding exhibition races on Rota next month, Cepeda said that
they would not be having a point race in March. She added that results
in the Rota races will not be counted in the monthly point standings.
Meanwhile, MRA thanked Triple J Motors, Joeten Yamaha, Mr. Peter Togawa
and Mr. BJ Castro for supporting last weekends race.
MRA held its second point race last Sunday with three riders notching
back-to-back victories in their respective divisions.
Manny Flores ruled the 80-85 cc expert class anew, while Ellery Cruz and
Shane Alvarez cruised to their second win in a row in the 125-250 expert
and novice class, respectively.
Other winners in last Sundays races were Henry Camacho (B/B ATV),
Edinna Cepeda (60-65 class), Lorenzo Sablan (PW-80), Britney Camacho (Mini-ATV),
Sheanna Pangelinan (powerpuff), Nathan Quitano (80-85cc novice) and Steve
Sablan (125-250 vets).
