The national
governments total revenue collections for the first four months
of the current fiscal year from Oct. 1, 2006 to Jan. 31, 2007 amounted
to $13,512,900 based on the latest data released by the Ministry of Finance.
Total collection on taxes was pegged at $11,815,400 with the biggest source
came from Business Gross Revenue in the amount of $4,975,361.
The other taxes are fish export ($375,174), general import ($2,237,757),
fuel excise ($322,705), road use ($156,936), salary and wages ($2,351,117),
hotel occupancy ($473,109), travelers head ($556,558), delinquent
taxes, penalties and interest ($341,146), and all other taxes ($25,537).
Data showed there is 37 percent collections on taxes as compared to the
appropriated revenue of $31,786.417 or a balance to collect of $19,971,017
for taxes alone.
Collections on water utilities totaled $224,056.
Collection from licenses and fees was $1,030,384. This included business
license and fees ($184,639), fishing right ($41,288), foreign labor permit
and fees ($277,211), port use fees ($323,327), other fees and permits
($25,537).
Others came from postal sales and services ($119,266), philatelic sales
($4,633), court fines ($63,150), other fees and fines ($5,935), services
on interest earning non-compact ($52,144) and all other revenues ($197,932).
