Rivals, Styxers, Ididers win in round 2 of NBL Div. I

The Rivals opened up its second round campaign with a lopsided 100-62 win over the Ranchers on Thursday night Feb. 15 in Division I of the 2007 Shell National Basketball League at the Palau National Gymnasium.
Javis Pedro led four other players in double digit scoring for the Rivals with his 18. Hiros had 17, Scout Matsutaro 15, Eli 14 and Spis Gordon 11.
Also barging into the win column was the Styxers, who escaped with a 91-81 victory over Peched.
Una Rikrik scored 11 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Styxers while team captain Wallace Rikrik had 17 while Perry chipped in 11.
In the last game, the Ididers won via forfeiture against Surangel and Sons.
On Friday Feb. 15, the Islanders defeated Meda, 70-66 while the Breakers won via forfeiture at the expense of the Ikelauans.
Games as of press time last night are between the Ididers and the Breakers and between Peched and the Islanders.
The second round of Division II starts tonight with Mesang taking on Mesekiu at 9 p.m. in Pool 1 while the Matadors meet On Fire at 6 p.m. and the Blue Sharks face the Ngiwal 79ers at 7:30 p.m. in Pool 2.
