Motheread/Fatheread teams up with PSS

THE Motheread/Fatheread Program and the Public School System’s child care program will offer the first Teacheread course in the CNMI.
The course is a professional development opportunity for teachers who want to learn more about reading aloud with children.
Teacheread will provide opportunities for teachers to share their ideas, experience and concerns about early education at schools and child care centers.
It is “a powerful class that builds upon each teacher’s reading, writing, speaking and listening skills while using the dynamic Motheread Inc. method of using stories as a way to teach language skills and valuable life lessons.”
The teachers attending these courses will “explore stories in depth from both an adult and a child’s perspective. This enables teachers to better use stories as a way to teach literacy and life’s lessons. The teachers learn new story sharing techniques that make reading aloud more fun and exciting for both the teacher and the children. Participating teachers are also given the opportunity to practice what they learn in a community of teachers and then share their successes with the children at their schools or child care centers.”
