Anatahan volcanic haze reaches Guam

By Gerardo R. Partido
Variety News Staff

ALTHOUGH the sun was out yesterday, the sky was overcast due to the haze from Anatahan volcano.
The volcano on Anatahan earlier emitted gas and steam plumes, which brought haze to the skies of Saipan and Tinian.
According to the National Weather Service, winds from the north are now blowing the wind into Guam.
NWS said the haze may linger on Guam for a few days, adding that the haze is not harmful to residents because the concentration of volcanic gases is low.
However, the haze and odor may affect people with respiratory problems.
