By R. Vincent Tupaz
For Variety

THE Pepsi Shockers lived up to its name in the Department of Parks and Recreation Gatorade Slow-pitch Softball League as they finished atop the league after a dozen games.
Pepsi trumped league pennant winners Alpha Q who finished the league with the best record of 10-2 in regular season play in the DPR / Gatorade Softball league. Pepsi had a 9-3 record before clinching the title.
According to Rita Artero Dededo Sports Complex Manager, the league’s Champion Runner Up was the team from GovGuam’s very own Department of Revenue and Taxation who at .500 with a 6-6 record fought their way through the playoffs for a strong finish.
The league’s Sportsmanship award went to Mid Pac Far East who boasted the league’s Home run king as well in John Salas. Salas recorded eight-home runs for the honor. Pepsi’s Roy Ignacio, had five for the season and teammates Dan Pocaigue and Roman Blas each recorded four to round out the top home run champion honors.
