A. Samoa Senate to create new panel

APIA (Pacnews) — The American Samoa Senate is to establish a select investigative committee when the new Legislature convenes next month.
Senate President, Lolo M. Moliga, said the investigative panel will have authority to probe various areas of government including the $208 million American Samoa Government Employees Retirement Fund.
The proposed committee will have nine-members, and will take over other pressing matters that other standing committees had handled, but not completed, during the 29th legislature.
The Senate Retirement Committee on Friday convened to await the arrival of documents subpoenaed from the Retirement Fund and two local banks.
