FIVE boys and a girl were
the infants born at the Commonwealth Health Center on the first day of
2007.
The first to arrive at the world at 7:40 a.m. was Bronson the first baby
of Mun Wang Lee, 34 and You Soo Youn, 27, tourists from Seoul, South Korea
who were here to visit the new mothers relatives in Susupe.
Midwife Sereima Rabuku greeted baby Bronson a Happy New Year
as she delivered the six-pound and 14-ounce boy.
The other midwives in attendance were Meghan Syring and Losana Rogoyawa.
You Soo Youns grandmother was also there to welcome her great grandson.
The new years second baby was born at 12:35 p.m. the child
of Jane Kapwich, 36, who delivered the child by caesarian section.
The third was another baby boy, Travanie Atalig Jr., who was born at 2:23
p.m.
His father, Travanie Sr., who works for a landscaping firm on Guam, had
to file a leave of absence to take care of his 19-year-old wife, Mary
Margaret Muna as early as the first week of December.
The father said he was so excited to have his baby born on the first day
of the year.
He said he and his wife were expecting to have their second son on Dec.
29, her due date.
I never thought were having him on New Years Day. Its
a miracle, Travanie Sr., said.
The next two baby boys were delivered by Renee Agulto, 29, at 2:28 p.m..
and Neiman Suda, 30, one hour later, followed by a baby girl delivered
by Julie Celis, 23, at 6:49 p.m.
Midwives Roca Quitugua and Apehia Manibusa said they all the greeted the
infants a Happy New Year.
They had to look after 14 patients brought in on Jan. 1.
The eight other patients are scheduled to give birth this week.
