The House of Delegates has
adopted a resolution to amend a section of its Travel Policy and Procedures,
which was introduced by Speaker Augustine Mesebeluu.
Mesebeluu said amending Section 413 (Indirect Routes) is Delegates adopt
new travel policy resolution
necessary to meet the needs of those travelling for the interest of the
HOD.
The amended version states that "when a traveler travels by indirect
route, the extra expense, if any, is normally not reimbursable."
It said that exceptions are made when indirect routes are necessary because
of time considerations, it is in the best interest of the HOD, or the
travelers health or safety to take an indirect route.
"Notwithstanding the above, when a traveler has a stopover or a layover
and the traveler has a minimum of four hours between check-in/out time
of 12 noon, said traveler is entitled to a full day per diem for those
four hours."
The resolution said "in addition, the traveler is, also entitled
for a full day per diem, if the traveler has a minimum of four hours from
time of check-out 12 noon and the flight time."
