Delegates adopt new travel policy resolution

The House of Delegates has adopted a resolution to amend a section of its Travel Policy and Procedures, which was introduced by Speaker Augustine Mesebeluu.

necessary to meet the needs of those travelling for the interest of the HOD.
The amended version states that "when a traveler travels by indirect route, the extra expense, if any, is normally not reimbursable."
It said that exceptions are made when indirect routes are necessary because of time considerations, it is in the best interest of the HOD, or the travelers’ health or safety to take an indirect route.
"Notwithstanding the above, when a traveler has a stopover or a layover and the traveler has a minimum of four hours between check-in/out time of 12 noon, said traveler is entitled to a full day per diem for those four hours."
The resolution said "in addition, the traveler is, also entitled for a full day per diem, if the traveler has a minimum of four hours from time of check-out 12 noon and the flight time."
