Tan Candelaria’s 2007 outlook

FIRST, Tan Candelaria is wishing that Ben and Tim would be more successful bringing in investors to our CNMI and she thinks that it would happen soon. Then she said, “Oh my god, gasoline had been hiked up to $3.13.9 per gallon. Again?” She continued by saying she remembered reading someone hoping for other entrepreneurs to come to our rescue to compete against Mobil and Shell.
Then Canda became lost in her thoughts; I asked her what happened? She said, “We have lost former President Gerald Ford, a good friend of the CNMI.” He knew and showed more concern for our welfare than politicians in Washington who won’t budge an inch unless their ideas were followed.
Really Saipan, Tinian and Rota, how could anyone afford a drastic increase in minimum wage? Our ailing garment industry is crumbling and sooner or later “poof” — gone, and our tourism industry is no different showing a painful upward climb.
Canda asked me, “Could this be part of our own choice because the CNMI relies heavily on imported goods?” Canda, stop putting me on the spot! I am not a congressman! Speaking of the Legislature, I heard that several “oldies” are making a comeback next midterm election.
Ai nalalao, again?
Maybe they have an ace up their sleeves thinking they can do better than you know who.
Okay, okay, so what is happening to the Pagan island resources? Hekua dai Canda, our illustrious legislators are tight-lip sitting pretty on this revenue generating opportunity. Canda, do you think they are tangled up in their own talayan ti’ao “mess” pondering how to outwit investors? Yeah Gonzalo, taking their sweet time like we print our own money.
Candelaria, enough! Ai adai, there goes my New Year’s resolution not to be a pain in the you know where. So I’d better leave now while I still have control of my sanity. Esta later.
