Solomons urges foreign countries to respect its sovereignty

HONIARA (Pacnews) — Solomon Islands Governor General Sir Nathaniel Waena has called on foreign governments to respect Solomon Islands and its sovereign democratic government.
He said many Solomon Islanders have questioned concerns by foreign governments over certain government appointments.
These include the appointments of suspended Attorney General Julian Moti and the chairman of the Commission of Inquiry into the April 2006 riots in Honiara.
Sir Nathaniel said Solomon Islands is an independent sovereign democratic state.
He has appealed to everyone to respect Solomon Island’s constitutional process.
