By Jonathan V. Perez
Variety News Staff

THE 2006-2007 season of the Masters Basketball League will resume its games on Monday, Jan. 8, at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.
The season took a break during the Holidays. Sports and Recreation Division staff also replaced the broken light bulbs at the gym.
Games in the Inter-hotel league were also called off and are set to resume next week.
On Monday, Jan. 8, LBT Appraisal will face Dino Sores in the first match in the 45-and-up division at 6:30 p.m. The Kanoans will play against the Old Aces in the 8 p.m. contest.
On Wednesday, Jan. 10, SIP battles PTI at 6:30 p.m. followed by the Typhoons-Old Aces 8 p.m. game in the 35-and-up division.
Friday’s matches will pit Tropical Storm against NMC at 6:30 p.m. while NIC clashes with the Old Aces at 8 p.m. in the 45-and-up class.
Matches in the 45-and-up division are played twice a week every Monday and Friday while Wednesday is reserved for the 35-and-up class.
The league opened on Dec. 15 with the Typhoons and LBT Appraisal debuting strong after beating separate foes.
The Typhoons clobbered Top 45, 83-54, in the first game, while LBT whipped NIC, 65-51, in the games in the 45-and-up division.
The organizing Basketball Association of the Northern Mariana Islands is still waiting for confirmation from two interested squads in the 35-and-up division.
BANMI’s Elias Rangamar said they want to know if the two interested teams will play in the annual league.
Rangamar is reminding teams about the no-pay, no-play rule. The entrance fee is $400 per team in both divisions. If teams are not able to make a full payment, they can pay $50 before each game.
