CRMO: Boat owners can have their ‘litter’ back

By Emmanuel T. Erediano
Variety News Staff

OWNERS of the small boats that were removed from the Beach Road shoreline may see the Coastal Resource Management Office enforcement unit if they wish to get their vessels back, says CRMO Director John Joyner.
The small boats, which CRMO earlier described as “litter,” have been transported to Black Micro’s old quarry in Marpi after being removed from the shoreline during a cleanup operation on Wednesday.
CRMO is not a boat keeper, Joyner said, but it will allow an owner to come forward and have his boat back as long as he has proof it belongs to him.
He said the owners can go to the enforcement unit to claim their boats.
Joyner said he heard from one of the enforcement team members that while they were loading one of the small boats onto the trucks, a man showed up and told them he recognized the vessel as one stolen from him a long time ago.
