IIAAG’s third quarter season starts Jan. 13

THIRD quarter high school sports for teams in the Independent Interscholastic Athletic Association of Guam are tentatively set to kick off on Jan. 13 with the sport of wrestling.
According to IIAAG Vice President Marty Boudreau, wrestling, Golf, Basketball, Boys’ and Girls’ Rugby and Girls’ softball are scheduled for the interscholastic sports in the third quarter.
The Wrestling schedule proposed start date is set for Jan.13th. Teams committing to participation include the Father Duenas Friars, Simon Sanchez Sharks, Guam High, Southern, George Washington, and John F. Kennedy stated Boudreau.
Rugby is expected to begin on Jan 20. Two divisions are set in the Boys’ Taga division it will be FD, Sanchez, and JFK. In the Gadao division: Norte Dame, GW, Southern will go head to head. As well, in the Girlsdivision, the Taga division adds Academy to its list while Sanchez and JFK carry over. In the Gadao division ND, GW, Southern will butt heads.
On January 23, high school golf and B-Ball will begin. IN Golf, there will be girls & boys teams. Teams are St. John’s, FD, AOLG, GW, Sanchez, St. Paul, Guam High, Southern, and JFK. The 1st meets are proposed to start on Jan.23.
The proposed start date for basketball is Jan. 23. The Taga division will host St. Paul, JFK, St. John’s, Sanchez, and Harvest. The Gadao division will host FD, Southern, Guam High, GW, and ND.
Finally, Boudreau stated that the exact start date for girls’ softball is on Jan. 24. Thus far J FK, St. John’s, Sanchez, St. Paul, GW, Academy, Southern, ND, and Guam High will participate.
