Variety News Staff

CHAMPIONS in the Prince/Princess and Queen of the Lanes will be known on Sunday when the final roll-off of the year-long tenpin bowling tournament ends on Sunday at the Saipan Bowling Center.
The female and youth bowlers rated on the Bowler Ranking System will vie for slots in the step-ladder finals.
In the Prince/Princess and Queen of the Lanes, those who qualify are those who participated in four or more of the monthly roll-offs.
Those who qualified will play an eight-game series with the top six advancing to the step-ladder finals.
In the step-ladder finals, the top two bowlers will draw a bye while they wait for their opponents. Number three will face number six with the winner earning the right to face the second seed. The winner in the game between number four and number five will take on number one.
Emi Williams headed the list of the automatic qualifiers for the roll-off in the Queen of the Lanes followed by Rosalinda I. Cal and Gloria Omechelang.
Other qualifiers are Yolanda Villavicencio, Marie Manansala, Gina Sablan, Jerilyn T. Teregeyo, Sophie Fejeran, Rizza Hensley, Cora Muna, Elena Soll, and Diane Camacho.
The Prince/Princess of the Lanes qualifiers are Joshua Alegado, Carrie Camacho, Christilyn Camacho, Tony Cruz, Zack Cruz, Jared Gutierrez, Donna Hensley, Marion McKenzie, Mayanne McKenzie, Keno San Pablo, JD Torres, Jamie Vales, Jeremy Williams, Leeanne Yarobwemal, Ken Yoshimoto and Raphael Zapanta.
The King of the Lanes will have their qualifying and finals on Jan. 14 also at SBC.
Robert Talavera heads the list of automatic qualifiers for the nine-game final roll-off of the season-ending Pepsi King of the Lanes.
The list is based on the Bowler Ranking System adopted by the SBA in which points are awarded to each participant based on their standings in each tournament.
Talavera won King of the Lanes monthly titles in January, May and November. He also twice bowled perfect 300 games on Feb. 15 and July 15, won the men’s May Masters crown and the Philippine Bowling Association-Budweiser Bowler of the Year.
Other qualifiers are Richard Leong, Raul Dumapit, Dannie Robles, Edgar Talavera, Alex Cacdac, Arnel R. Del Rosario, Paul Pangelinan, Simon Manacop, Raymond Zapanta, Kitz Barja and Raymond Angeles.
The top 12 will wait for the winners from the 13th to 36th finishers where they will vie for the 12 slots in a three-game series. The top 12 after the roll-off on Jan. 14 will then face the 12 automatic qualifiers in a nine-game series from which the best six bowlers will move on into the step-ladder finals.
The format for the step-ladder finals is the same as in the Queen of the Lanes.
