THE Guam Police Department
arrested a Dededo resident for his alleged involvement in an early Friday
morning armed robbery.
Efaim Millora Sazon, 19, is charged with leaving the scene with property
damage, robbery, use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony,
and driving under the influence with a blood alcohol content of over .08.
GPD public information officer Allan Guzman said officers responded to
the Fatima Mobil in Dededo on a reported armed robbery.
Preliminary investigation showed that Sazon entered the Mobil station
at 3:30 a.m. on Friday and pointed a knife at the cashier.
With the knife at the cashier, Sazon demanded cigarettes. He then
fled in a red Hyundai Accent towards Route 1 and Santa Monica Drive. At
that point, the Hyundai struck a Toyota Four-Runner on the roadway and
eventually veered off the roadway and struck a parked vehicle on Santa
Monica Drive. Sazon, the driver of the Hyundai, fled the scene,
Guzman told Variety.
Police officers later learned about Sazon receiving medical treatment
at Guam Memorial Hospital which led to his arrest for the robbery and
accident.
Man surrenders after making threats
On Thursday morning, acting Police Chief Capt. Paul Suba received a call
from the Governors Office telling him that someone had made a threat
on the governor, the lt. governor and the attorney general.
Suba later received a call at his office from a male individual who identified
himself to be the same caller that made the threat call to the Governors
Office. Security measures were taken and several individuals were interviewed
and checked.
Guzman said GPDs Criminal Investigation Section, SWAT, patrol, and
other assisting sections were activated.
At about 5:45 p.m. on Jan. 4, the caller surrendered to a relative
and was relinquished over to the Guam Police without incident. The individual
was transported to CID for further questioning. No further details were
provided, Guzman stated.
Police did not disclose the identity of the man.
