THE Department of Public Safety has identified the pedestrian struck by a vehicle in Tanapag on Tuesday night last week.
Acting DPS spokesman Sgt. Thomas Blas Jr. said Joe Nusun’s condition is now stable.
Nusun, 49, has been taken off the ventilator and is breathing on his own.
He has yet to be interviewed by traffic investigators regarding the incident.
Nusun was walking in the outer southbound lane when he was struck by a white Toyota Camry driven by Atiqur Rahman, 37, at 10:19 p.m. on Jan. 2 along 2W in Tanapag.
Nusun sustained head injuries and was taken to the Commonwealth Health Center for treatment. He was admitted to the intensive care unit.
Traffic investigators earlier ruled out speed and alcohol as factors in the crash and determined that the pedestrian was intoxicated at the time of the accident.
