FOR the fourth consecutive year, the Bank of Guam is offering local high school seniors an opportunity to apply for up to $5,000 in grants through its participation in the 2007 Education Exchange College Grant Program.
Totaling $50,000 in grants for 2007, the Education Exchange Program is open to all college-bound, high school seniors graduating this year.
Applicants must be U.S. citizens and able to provide written acceptance to an accredited 4-year college by May 15, 2007. Other information includes an official copy of the high school transcript and two letters of recommendation.
Students must mail their completed applications and supporting documents directly to the ACCEL/Exchange Network in New Jersey by March 15, 2007.
Under the program, a total of four $5,000 grants and 30 $1,000 grants will be awarded by July 2007.
As a result of the Bank of Guam’s participation in the Program, a Guam student has been awarded a grant since BoG entered the program in 2004.
In 2006, three Guam students were awarded a record $7,000 in grants. Neeraj Nagarajan, a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, was awarded $5,000 and attends Princeton University, while Justin Law, a graduate of St. John’s School was awarded $1,000 and attends Texas A&M University.
