Suns win fourth for tie of top

The Surangel Suns posted an easy 87-59 win over the Racnhers on Wednesday night in Division I of the Shell NBL at the Palau National Gymnasium.
With the win, the Suns improved their record to 4-1 and tied the Rivals on top of the team standings.
Also on Wednesday, the Ididers scored a similar lopsided 70-48 victory over the Ikelauans.
The win was the Ididers’ third in five games while issuing the Ikelauans’ fourth defeat in as many outings.
In Division II, the Stingers remained the only undefeated team in the league after beating the Bullets, 98-96, on Dec. 28.
The win was the Stingers’ sixth consecutive.
Ngiwal 79ers and the Matadors are in second place with identical 4-1 cards while the Jaguars are in solo third with 3-1.
The Matadors won over Palau Pacific Resort, 81-79, on Dec. 30.
Also winning their last assignments are Airai over Bullets, 85-78, on Dec. 29; Kabong over Mesang, 71-68, on Dec. 30 and Ngiwal Central over Klebokl, 89-74, also on Dec. 30.
Klebokl was scheduled against the Kinsmen while Ngiwal Central was set to play against the Jaguars and Peches against the Matadors as of presstime last night.
The other teams current standings are Aiarai (5-2), Peches (4-2), On Fire (3-3), PPR (2-4), Ngiwal Central (2-4), Blue Sharks (2-4), PCC Mesekiu (2-3), Mesang (3-3), Kabong (3-2), Kinsmen (1-4), Bullets (1-5), and Klebokl (0-6).
