No war reparation – no liberation

STARTING this year 2007 and every year thereafter, the celebration of the “Liberation Day” activities should be “cancelled” or “stopped” until the Chamorro people received compensation in accordance with the WAR REPARATION for the atrocities, murders, sufferings and hardships from the brutal Japanese Imperial forces occupiers, as well as from the massive and brutal destruction of bombardment by the so-called “liberators.”
It has been decades and decades and decades and decades and still, there is no sign of light at the end of the tunnel of “doom” on this issue.
I am appealing to all of our leaders of Guam, including the Guam delegate, to demand the U.S. government to pay WAR REPARATION NOW! Leaders of Guam, stand-up (fanachu!) for the rights of your people for this dreadful injustice bestowed upon them on a “war of landgrabbing” not of their choosing.
The celebration of “Liberation” is but a farce, and only Guam where the colonized people celebrated liberation while still under colonial rule.
To date, thousands of war reparation claimants have since passed away, and soon there will be no one left due to the trauma of World War II and the diseases embedded in their body as a result of toxic chemicals from the “chemical dumpsites” left behind by the federal and military occupiers after the war.
The U.S. government shows no sign of faith, recognition, moral obligation and responsibility on this war reparation issue. The Guam World War II Recognition Loyalty Act does nothing more than describe the colonized Chamorro people as faithful, peace-loving, very loyal and proud to be Americans under colonial rule. There should be no more U.S. congressional and/or Guam public hearing. There should be no more excuses, there should be no more delays. Just no more “fabilia de chispas” (full of stories talk).
Again, the Government of Guam should “cancel” or “stop” the celebration of “Liberation Day” activities starting this year until such time that the Chamorro people received compensation on war reparation they so deserve. “No War Reparation – No Liberation!!” “Fan mak-mata yan fanachu Chamorros.”
