Some 130 teachers and staff from 15 Head Start centers have joined a three-day in-service training at Palasia Hotel from January 3-5.
Belau Head Start Director Regina Mesebeluu said the workshop participants include teachers, assistant teachers, cooks, bus drivers, managers, coordinators and support staff.
With the theme “Leading with a Vision: Managing Change and Creating Quality,” there are nine different types of workshops but each participant will complete six of their own choice.
Mesebeluu explained that the workshop is about the several changes like new regulations in the whole Head Start program.
Topics include Management systems, procurement education and health services, family and community partnership, facility and transportation services and leadership model.
Also discussed on the first day of session were disability service, Human Relations and Information Systems and the ongoing monitoring.
Mesebeluu said that they have invited members of the Board and Policy Council to update them about the program.
The presentation of special awards and recognition was scheduled as of presstime last night.
