All the way

WITH all the political, economic and the federal impact on the minimum wage increase and immigration takeover issues that we are faced with, I am sure that everyone’s New Year’s resolution is undoubtedly full of hope for reconciliation, love, peace, harmony and prosperity for all.
After the midterm election in the U.S. congress, the Democrats have the majority in both the House and Senate. We have been alarmed about the potential Democratic proposal to impose the federal minimum wage increase and the immigration take-over since then. Deputy Secretary of the Department of Interior Mr. David Cohen, along with our CNMI Washington representative, Mr. Pete A. Tenorio, continue to warn us and emphasized the need for our island leaders and the community to work together to establish a vision and a unified position to present to congress, hoping that they can reconsider their position on these matters. This is the most crucial time in our CNMI history, which calls for everyone to band together and work harmoniously to find realistic solutions to address these challenges we are faced with now.
Unfortunately, some individuals pretending to be leaders in our community have already started showing less concern about our children and the future generations of these beautiful islands. Let me give you an example of what these pretentious leaders are doing. Last Wednesday, Jan. 3, I read an ad in the Tribune saying that concerned members of the Precinct 4 Republican Party were planning to have a meeting on Jan. 4, on the following day at 6 p.m. at the Tanapag Social Hall, in order to elect the precinct club officers and Precinct 4 candidates for the house of representatives. I am a loyal member of the Republican Party and I always make sure that I participate and contribute for the sake of my family as well as the well-being of our community and the entire CNMI. But considering the short notice, I began making inquiries regarding this meeting. Everyone I spoke to said that they did not know anything about any precinct four meeting other than the ad that appeared in the Tribune on Jan. 3, 2007. They said that they were so confused because they do not know who actually called that meeting and whether its official or not. We also learned later that day that this meeting was orchestrated by Mr. Oscar Rasa, and that the meeting was not sanctioned by the Republican Party Executive Committee or the so called “Central Committee.” Some credible sources also reviewed that the Republican Party by-laws only authorizes the Executive or Central Committee to call the precinct club reorganization and reelection of officers. This perhaps led me to believe that the manner in which this meeting is called is somewhat illegitimate and confusing. To avoid further confusion, I told my family, relative and friends as well as a lot of Republican Party followers and strong supporters to wait until we get a more official and credible information.
What I’m trying to say here is no wonder why we are now faced with all kinds of crises because those individuals whom we hope to guide us in the right direction, are creating so much confusion and, my God, the last thing we ever needed in this very difficult time is for someone to create chaos in this already chaotic situation. Perhaps if Mr. Oscar Rasa can get a little dignity, he will more likely have the honor to go back to where he belongs and mind his own business, and allow us to handle our own affairs in our precinct so we can move forward lawfully and try to find peace and harmony. We honestly do not need the corrupted brain of Mr. Rasa. We have enough sufferings and we need to work with one another, and not work against each other. By the way, does anybody know where Mr. Rasa is from and where he lives other than, you know where?
To all my brothers and sisters in the Republican Party, let’s be thankful that during the Christmas holidays the Lord granted us the ability to unite once again. Let us keep it that way so we can continue to WIN…..WIN….. WIN for the future of our children and their children. BIBA Republican all the Way!!!
