A 38-year-old man was arrested
and brought to the Superior Court for beating his wife after she asked
him to buy their son some school supplies.
Associate Judge David A. Wiseman imposed a cash bail of $10,000 for Teksiter
T. Sachuos temporary liberty during a hearing on Wednesday.
Sachuo was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections when
he failed to post bail.
The preliminary hearing was set for Jan. 16 at 9 a.m. and the arraignment
was set for Jan. 22, at 9 a.m.
Sachuo was arrested on Monday for domestic violence and assault and battery.
The affidavit of Detective Andrea Carr Ozawa of the Criminal Investigation
Bureau stated that the victim called for assistance on Monday afternoon
and reported an assault and battery incident.
Police Officer Regino Celis responded to the Upper Miha housing area and
met the victim. who told the responding officer that she was punched by
her husband.
The victim told police that she and the defendant were in their home along
with their 16-year-old son.
The son asked Sachuo if he could buy school supplies but the defendant
answered no.
When the wife asked Sachuo why he would not buy the school supplies, he
yelled and told her to shut up.
The victim asked for the second time. Sachuo told her to shut up
and then punched her with his fist as she was walking to the kitchen.
The wife immediately went to a neighbors house and called police
for assistance.
The police affidavit stated that Sachuo was arrested before for assaulting
the same victim. He is under probation until Jan. 26, 2007.
