A MAN who engaged in a fight inside the U.S. Naval Base got 18 months of probation from the U.S. District Court of Guam.
David Contreras, 23, was charged with disorderly conduct after he created public annoyance inside the Navy base on June 3, 2006.
Contreras reportedly persisted in fighting despite reasonable warning by authorities to desist.
On Nov. 14, 2006, he pleaded guilty to the charges to avoid a maximum sentence of not more than 60 days and a maximum fine not exceeding $500.
During his sentencing last Wednesday, he was ordered not to possess a firearm or any other dangerous weapon, and not to possess any unlawful controlled substances.
He was ordered by Judge Joaquin Manibusan Jr. to submit to up to eight drug tests a month for use of a controlled substance, and to perform 200 hours of community service under the direction of the U.S. Probation Office.
