Bamboo tree cause power outage at the Capitol

A bamboo tree falling on one of the transmission lines in Ngatpang State caused a 30-minute power outage at the Capitol Building in Melekeok.
Kione Isechal . Palau Public Utilities Corporation Chairman of the Board said that the problem was quickly located by the crew who immediately restored the power.
Isechal said the PPUC crew had to travel from Koror to Ngatpang to correct the problem.
Isechal said due to the rains, a bamboo tree hit of one of the transmission lines.
Isechal clarified that the power interruption was not because of the new generators being hooked up at the power plant.
He said that the installation of the newly purchased generators is not supposed to affect electricity flow both in Koror and Babeldaob.
