Danny Aquino’s letter does not leave much to our imagination of what “White America” is all about. America’s leadership is neck deep in Democracy manure. American Democracy is not “one size fits all” and the Pelosi, Miller and Company’s bullying of Saipan is an obvious act of intimidation to put fear in the hearts and minds of our Chamorro political leaders that the Covenant Treaty is on Death Row in the Congress.
The Covenant Treaty represents the Will of the Chamorro People of CNMI, and indirectly the Chamorros of Guam. It was founded on the exercise of the Human Right of Self-Determination in determining political destiny of CNMI with the United States.
Any Congressional action, benign or malignant, to oppress or suppress any part of the Covenant Treaty in violation of the Right of Self-Determination of the Chamorro People under which the governing powers of the CNMI Covenant derive, shall by that violation declare the Covenant, null and void, granting the Chamorro People the Ancestral Right to be “Free and Sovereign.”
It has always been the American foreign policy to exercise the “the big stick” in assuring American hegemony, including the successful pacification and humiliation of the Chamorro People, and the permanent occupation of the Mariana Islands.
The Department of the Interior’s spokesman in these parts, in recent days, had spoken with much prediction about the coming American Typhoon that is going to sweep Saipan with the tidal wave of American vengeance to get rid of the Chamorro sovereignty which our people can not be allowed to exercise under American colonial democracy. Even if it means poverty and hell for our people, we have to submit to the might of the colonial rule of Pelosi and Miller.
Miller’s hatred of Northern Marianas success in the textile industry no doubt has something to do with it’s demise. Never mind that big corporations in Miller’s backyard are full of human rights violations, slave labor, and political corruption that has gone unchecked without much attention by the California supremacist.
One thing I must say that, yes, perhaps, and painfully, we are faced with the frightful prediction that we are doomed to die in the face of this Americanization, but the Earth will become just a grave for such power and might, just as others have been. God bless Chief Seattle, and my Chief, Hurao.
Maybe it’s time to address the Political Question of Guam and NMI, and perhaps start the Konferensian Chamorro on the Chamorro Republic of the Mariana Islands, at the grassroots level. It is not such a bad idea to be “Free and Sovereign.” We once were, for thousands of years. Is there room for “Chamorro Sovereignty” in our Homeland?
