WRESTLERS in the Independent Interscholastic Athletic Association of Guam Wrestling League took to the mat on Saturday at the Father Duenas Gym in Mangilao to kick-off the 2007 season.
The Father Duenas Friars took on the Simon Sanchez Sharks. The defending champions Guam High Panthers dueled with the Southern High Dolphins and the George Washington Geckos wrestled the John F. Kennedy Islanders.
The FD Friars beat Sanchez 36-24, Guam High handily defeated Southern High, 62-6 and JFK clobbered GW66-3.
IIAAG Wrestling action continues on Wed. Jan. 17, Southern will challenge Sanchez at 6:30 p.m. and Guam High will host the Friars. Both matches will be held at the Panthers’ gymnasium in Nimitz.
