Murder carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment.
According to the affidavit of probable cause executed by Bureau of Public Safety officer Willie Mays Towai, he was assigned to investigate a stabbing incident that occurred outside of Mets Club in Medalaii ,early morning of Dec. 23, 2006.
The affidavit said that Tyrone Thing, and defendant Hugo who were both working for Koror State as rangers , had an altercation at the Peleliu Club.

It added that during the altercation, Thing reportedly struck Hugo once in the chest area.
The tiff was stopped after people intervened and called the police.

The affidavit said Thing was brought by the police to his house but drove back down to the Medalii area.

Thing allegedly sat down on a bench outside of the Mets door and was chatting with the club bouncer when Hugo reportedly approached him.
The affidavit said that Hugo and Thing briefly spoke when the defendant reportedly took a knife and stabbed the victim.
The victim was reportedly stabbed at the upper back area and twice in the upper chest area.
The affidavit said that witnesses who saw the incident said the incident happened so fast and that Hugo reportedly ran towards the road after allegedly stabbing Thing.
The club bouncer tried to help Thing when he fell to the ground, the affidavit further said.
The police arrived to rush Thing to the hospital but he was pronounced dead in the hospital apparently due to the fatal wounds sustained from the stabbing.
The affidavit also added that Hugo arrived at the police station voluntary morning of Dec. 23 and allegedly admitted to the crime to Officer Towai and Lt. Detective Aloysius Alonz.
