TWENTY participated in the
second Adult Enticer/Sprint triathlon series organized by the Northern
Mariana Islands Triathlon Federation last Saturday at PauPau Beach.
Of the 20, seven joined the Enticer leg of the race with newcomers Allison
Livingston and Flore Jones showcasing their best performances.
Livingston was the top individual finisher with Jones placing third among
the rookie triathletes.
Commonwealth Health Center physician Livingston conquered the 300-meter
swim, 8-kilometer bike and 2K run in 47 minutes and 17 seconds.
She was the fourth person who came out of the water posting a time of
11:24 and was also fourth in the bike leg, 23:19. Livingston completed
the race with a blazing run of 14:00.
Jones, meanwhile, was fifth overall and third among the individual finishers.
She had a total time of 54 minutes 12:00 in the swim, 26:57 in
the bike and 15:03 in the run.
Tuyet Nygun finished second in the Enticer beating Jones by 20 seconds,
53:40.
In the team event, Zandra Um, Tony Flores and Emily Gries bested Shane,
Raphie and Angelo Jones, 41:45-45:21.
Um and Shane did the swim, 10:29-11:33; Flores and Raphie did the bike
leg, 19:38-22:39; and Gries and Angelo ran the 2K course, 11:38-12:05.
The father-and-son team of Florian and Max Braig were the other participants
in the Enticer distance. They both came in at 54:04.
In the Sprint distance, NMITF president Dirk Sharer topped the event with
a time of 58:34 followed by Lewie Tenorios 1:00:05 record and Butch
Sublemente, 1:02:34.
Mieko Carey, fourth overall, was the top female finisher completing the
600m swim, 16k bike and 4k run in 1:03:04.
Other participants in the Sprint distance were Ben Wood, 1:03:58; Josh
Berger, 1:04:20; Fred Camacho, 1:05:16; Nishikido Tamio, 1:05:46; Maimi
Shimizu, 1:07:19; Kevin Carey, 1:07:28; Kimiko Hasegawa, 1:08:18; Mamiko
Oshima, 1:08:34; and Dawn Hammermeister, 1:14:13.
Florian Braig, Berger and Gries won water park passes, Wood won a Magellan
brunch while Max Briag won a two-day and one-night stay at PIC in the
raffle held after the race. Angelo and Raphi won water bottles.
All participants will be entered in the grand prize PIC raffle for $150.
