The Philippine Embassy here has lined up several activities for year 2007.
Philippine Ambassador to Palau Ramoncito Marino said that the embassy is working on holding an annual joint ministerial commission on bilateral cooperation meeting.
Marino said this cooperation has been signed by his predecessor but a meeting has not been set since then.
He stressed that from this meeting, more cooperation could be reached such as in areas of trade , tourism and labor among others.
Marino said this year he would push to schedule the meeting which will be held among Palau and Philippine representatives.
He added through this cooperation both countries could further strengthen their relationship.
The embassy will also work on urging the Palau government to release the pension contributions of Philippine nationals without having to return to Palau.
The embassy is encouraging Filipino organizations to support the embassy’s efforts to assist Filipino workers needing assistance.
The embassy is also considering establishing a diplomatic spouse program, Filipina Women’s Circle and Filipina Performance Troop.
For the June 12, 2007, Independence Day celebration, the embassy will conduct a fun run and a Filipino Food Festival, exhibit and harana (serenade).
