The Philippine Embassy here
has lined up several activities for year 2007.
Philippine Ambassador to Palau Ramoncito Marino said that the embassy
is working on holding an annual joint ministerial commission on bilateral
cooperation meeting.
Marino said this cooperation has been signed by his predecessor but a
meeting has not been set since then.
He stressed that from this meeting, more cooperation could be reached
such as in areas of trade , tourism and labor among others.
Marino said this year he would push to schedule the meeting which will
be held among Palau and Philippine representatives.
He added through this cooperation both countries could further strengthen
their relationship.
The embassy will also work on urging the Palau government to release the
pension contributions of Philippine nationals without having to return
to Palau.
The embassy is encouraging Filipino organizations to support the embassys
efforts to assist Filipino workers needing assistance.
The embassy is also considering establishing a diplomatic spouse program,
Filipina Womens Circle and Filipina Performance Troop.
For the June 12, 2007, Independence Day celebration, the embassy will
conduct a fun run and a Filipino Food Festival, exhibit and harana (serenade).
