The new Ambassador of Taiwan, state officials from Peleliu and Angaur and students from Ngaraard are the special guests for today’s opening of regular session of both the Senate and House of Delegates.
Senate Public Information Officer Reblud Kesolei said that Taiwan Ambassador Matthew S. Lee would be formally introduced to members of Congress.
Lee has just recently replaced Clark H. Chen.
The session starts at 10 a.m. at the New Capitol in Melekeok.
Kesolei said that the Senate would also extend its formal recognition through a resolution to the recently elected state officials of Peleliu and Angaur led by Governors Jackson Ngiraingas and Horace Rafael, respectively, and their State Legislators.
Also gracing the occasion are 20 students and their two teachers from Ngaraard Elementary School.
As of presstime, the agenda for today’s session are still being finalized.
