By Jonathan V. Perez
Variety News Staff

FIESTA Inter put a blot on L&S/Kyung-Seung’s unbeaten record when the two teams clashed last Sunday in week four action in the Northern Mariana Islands Football Association-organized Men’s Open Football League at the Oleai Sports Complex.
L&S, which previously held a 3-0 record, suffered a 3-1 loss against Fiesta Inter in the final match of the day.
Fiesta Inter controlled the match from the opening kick-off, keeping the high-scoring L&S in check most of the time.
Fiesta Inter’s defense stifled L&S scoring leaders Jahangir Hossain and Jetsada Ponsutjit foiling their every scoring attempt.
Chris Leon Guerrero led Fiesta Inter’s offense drilling two goals including a penalty kick that finished off L&S’ comeback bid.
Guerrero scored early in the first half with Yosh Gabaldon adding another goal.
L&S got on the scoreboard on a goal by Dave Duenas.
The only blemish on Fiesta’s record was a scoreless draw with Real Mariana on Jan. 7. Fiesta Inter now holds a 3-0-1 win-loss-draw record.
In the first game, Onwell vented its ire on a helpless Korean One pulling off a 5-1 decision to earn its first win of the season.
Onwell pounded the ball the entire match attacking the defense put up by Korean One.
Somboon Palaengrsi continued to lead Onwell’s scoring booting three goals. He now has four goals including his first half score in Onwell’s 3-2 loss against L&S on Jan. 7.
Teammate Yok Soejing netted the other two goals against Korean One.
Jong Koo Gil scored the lone goal for Korean One to avoid the shutout.
In other matches, Real Mariana escaped with a 3-1 victory over the PTI Guardians while Alliance slipped past the Independents, 2-1.
Real Mariana looked sharp in the entire match with Brian Ko leading the charge.
Ko had an impressive outing for Real Mariana including a hat trick to help his team claim the convincing win.
Kamrul booted a 20-yard goal for PTI’s lone score.
Alliance relied on the goalkeeping skills of David Gan, and goals by Allan Chang and Riji Long to beat the Independents.
Chang put Alliance on the scoreboard midway in the first half while Long secured his team’s victory scoring in the closing minutes of the second half.
The Independents’ Jason Schroeder tied the count early in the second half.
Fiesta Inter will open up Sunday’s matches when they meet an Onwell side that is also fresh from a convincing win at 12 noon. The Independents-Real Mariana game will follow at 1:30 p.m.
L&S will try to bounce back from a stunning loss against Fiesta Inter when they take on the PTI Guardians at 3 p.m. while Korean One and Alliance will close out Sunday’s matches at 4:30 p.m.
