THE Saipan Little League is
set to hold its second Co-ed Softball Tournament Fundraiser on Jan. 20
and 21 at the DanDan Elementary School Ballfield.
Saipan Little League Baseball Association president Joe Salas said interested
teams can start preparing for the two-day tournament.
Salas said they are now accepting registrations for the teams that consist
of 25 members. Players 18-and-above can join the co-ed softball tournament.
Salas said if there are youth squads ages 12 to 14 and 15 to 18
who are interested then they might add two age divisions in the
softball tournament.
The entrance fee is $100 per squad and the deadline for submission of
team rosters is on Thursday, Jan. 18, at 6 p.m. in the Gilbert C. Ada
Gym conference room.
This will be the SLLBAs last fundraising before the 2007 season
opens on Feb. 11 at the Francisco M. Palacios Ballfield.

On Dec. 10, the Man Amigos scored a 13-7 win over Watta Guy to claim the
Saipan Little League Softball Fundraising Tournament.
More than 20 teams joined in the Saipan Little Leagues softball
tournament crown.
In other news, SLLBA president Salas appointed Mike Borja as the chairman
of the mini camp to be conducted by Toronto Blue Jays third baseman JR
Hattig on Jan. 27 and 28 at the Miguel Basa Tan Ge Pangelinan
Ballfield.
Jerry Ayuyu is coordinating Hattigs visit to Saipan.

Hattig, who was born in Tamuning and resides in Dededo, is the first Guam
player to make it to the major league and also the first in Micronesia.
He played 13 games this season posting a .333 batting average and getting
three RBIs.
