Stop complaining; do something

COMPLAIN, complain, complain. I am not much older than 18, but I am old enough to realize that the people of this island need to straighten out their priorities. Every morning when I go to work, I open up Marianas Variety and head straight to letters to the editor. And every morning, I am appalled at how many people write letters complaining about our government and its issues.
What is all that complaining doing? Absolutely nothing! Yes, our government has issues and yes (if you voted) you have a right to an opinion on it. But, if you do nothing more than write letters saying, “He did this,” or “She isn’t doing this,” it will get you nowhere.
I myself have many complaints about the direction this island is heading, but I take my stand. I attend forums, court dates, and meetings regarding my issues with Guam’s politics.
Slowly but surely, less people take a stand and just let out hot air, but that hot air does nothing but blow in the wind.
All I ask is that we all stop complaining and get up and do something about it. Please, make our island a priority and help me change where our island is heading.
