Delegate Kerai Mariur, chairman
of the House committee on judiciary and governmental affairs, issued a
subpoena to Kaleb Udui Jr., receiver of Pacific Savings Bank, for him
to appear in todays committee hearing.
A copy of the subpoena duces tecum was issued on Jan. 2 but it was only
yesterday that it was released to media.
Mariur ordered Udui to appear at 10 a.m. before the JGA committee to answer
questions regarding deposits and withdrawals made to and from Pacific
Savings Bank.
The committee also ordered Udui to bring list of all accounts, including
savings, checking and timed deposits and told him to have a separate listing
of accounts for individuals, corporations, state and national government
and its agencies.
The committee also wants a detailed breakdown of withdrawals made between
the months of May, 2006 and November 7, 2006 as well as a detailed breakdown
of all names and accounts closed within the months of May 7, 2006 and
Nov. 7, 2006.
The committee also ordered Udui to bring bank journal or ledger containing
names of persons who withdrew or closed their savings, checking or broke
their timed deposits between May 7, 2006 and November 7, 2006 as well
as supporting documents in their original format.
Mariur stressed that failure to comply with the subpoena duces tecum may
be deemed in contempt of the OEK and punishable by a fine of nor more
than $1,000, or imprisonment for not more than one year or both.
