Stingers keep win run via 79-77 decision over Ngiwal Central

The Stingers kept its winning run after eight games via a 79-77 decision over Ngiwal Central in Division II play of the 2007 Shell National Basketball League last Tuesday night at the Palau National Gymnasium.
Vann Isaac led the Stingers with 23 points, including the marginal two-pointer while Topps Sungino shot seven of his 12 in the fourth quarter and June Bautista had six of his 11 also in the fourth. Burton Wong also scattered 12 markers.
Four players scored in double figures Ngiwal Central, which slipped to a 2-6 record with Hosei 16, Jeremy 14, Bolton 13 and Elint 10.
In the other games, Klebokel defeated the Matadors, 77-70, in the battle between two newcomers while PCC Mesekiu beat Mesang, 79-67.
It was Klebokel’s second straight victory after dropping its first six assignments. The Matadors absorbed their third win in seven outings.
Wilson and King had 19 and 17 points, respectively for Klebokel while Maka Ichiro led the Matadors with 23, Tobel had 22 and Franky 18.
Eddie and Daffy had 19 each for PCC, which posted its fourth win in seven matches while dealing Mesang its fourth setback against three wins.
