Angaur, Peleliu airports ready for operation

Vice President Elias Camsek Chin said that with the airports of Angaur and Peleliu are ready for emergency landing.
Earlier, solar aviation marking lights were installed on the runway of Angaur and Peleliu airports.
Chin said that the alternative airports are kept in good shape for future military use.
He said the airport can also be used by military personnel who will be visiting Palau in the future with the United States Military bases in Okinawa transferring to Guam.
He said the military personnel can go to Palau as alternative vacation destination.
He added that the Angaur airport was previously used as alternative landing area by Continental Airlines and the passengers are transported via boats to Koror.
The installation of the aviation lights in Angaur was completed on Dec.19.
The Angaur airstrip is approximately 6,950 ft. long and 120 ft. wide, and costs $350.
