In response to Mr. Jeffrey Turbitt

MR. Jeffrey Turbitts comments, regarding Danny Aquino’s letter to the editor is absolutely hypocritical and pretentious. I guess Mr. Turbitt has not been following all Mr. Aquino’s editorial right up to the days discrimination occurred against locals during the Trust Territory administration. Mr. Turbitt’s opinion is truly expected because he is a product of Americanism and he is most certainly white. He wants all locals to be appreciative of all federal handouts and expect us to keep our mouths shut and turn a blind eye to all the injustice we receive as a people and Chamorro race. We also contribute to the federal tax but excuse me if I am wrong but we do not vote for president of the United States and we have no voting delegate in the United States Congress.
I have read countless times whenever a local mentions self determination or self governance a white American will rebut and tell us how they saved us during World War II and how we should be appreciative all federal handouts. Have you not forgotten Mr. Turbitt that the United States funds almost all countries that do not have American sentiment and are given millions of dollars without any obligation to repay? Do you think that the territories of the United States deserve the federal assistance with the display of patriotism that the local islanders have demonstrated during the many wars that we participated in? Come on now boboy…do we have to be white to get it.
Both you and your fellow compatriot Nancy Pelosi are why America democracy is suffering turmoil internationally. It’s apparent that you have no objection to the founding fathers when they talked about British tyranny but it’s obvious that you will always have something to say about someone like Mr. Aquino when he talks about American Tryanny. To me at least he did not refer to American tryranny as “American Manganiti’s!”
Please keep in mind that you are only a guest in this island and please, please, please teach the children of the CNMI since that is what you are paid to do. Maybe during your spare time you can enjoy the golf courses of American Samoa that your American federal government subsidizes. And while you’re on-line shopping at Wal-Mart you can enjoy all the cheap items that are on sale at the cost of slave laborers. Oh yeah! It’s okay because white folks like yourself can dictate who can become slaves and did steal the lands from the Indians, have African-American as slaves, have Chinese slaves to build your railroads in California, invaded Hawaii illegally and control our submerged lands.
I urge all locals to support Gov. Benigno Fitials attempts to fight off federal take over and urge all locals to please come together and rally on Jan. 26, 2007 to voice our concerns to the American government
