By Nazario Rodriguez Jr.
Horizon news staff

The Jaguars got back at reigning champion Rangers, 83-71, in the featured match-up last Sunday of the Filipino Basketball Association at the Palau National Gymnasium.
With the victory, the Jaguars led two other teams with similar 2-0 records same as Team Palau’s Wass’up and the Patriots.
The Jaguars nailed their first win of the season against Palau Royal Resort, 90-75, during the FBA opening day of games on Dec. 17.
It was the first setback for the defending champion Rangers following their 71-47 win against Basty Ngchesar the previous Sunday Jan. 7.
Basty absorbed their second setback as the Patriots jumped to a 24-6 first quarter lead on the way to an easy 91-46 victory over their fellow newcomers.
Joeger Supnet scored 21 for the Patriots, who duplicated their first game victory over the Rams on Jan. 7.
The Rams also dropped anew their second game as Wass’up dominated the game in all four quarters for a 80-50 win.
It was also the Palauans’ second win following their 78-71 decision over another new comer Samurai on Jan 7.
Samurai bounced back with a 79-68 victory over Sta. Fe, which further slipped to a 0-2 card.
Sta Fe and PDC-Rams will try to resurrect themselves when they meet in next Sunday’s first game starting at 11 a.m.
The other games will be played between the Rangers and PRR, Patriots and Jaguars and Wass’up and Basty.
