LBT bounces back in 45-and-up Masters caging

LBT recovered from its previous loss with a 102-68 whipping of the Old’Aces in the 45-and-up division of the Masters Basketball League last Monday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.
The victory improved LBT’s record to 3-1 Tropical Storm (3-0) handed LBT its lone defeat last Wednesday, 95-65.
A balanced offense and an explosive second quarter helped LBT cruised to an easy 34-point win, as six of its players scored in double figures.
Ador Dimaano topscored for LBT with 19 points, while Noel Delos Santos and Alex Ocampo chipped in 16 and 15 markers, respectively.
Jun Miday and Efren Baterina contributed 14 points each and George Villasan added 12.
Dave Camacho paced the Old’Aces with 23 points, while Francisco Sia and Tony Rogolifoi had 15 and 12 points, respectively.
With the trio hitting its marks in the first quarter, the Old’Aces were able to tie the game after 10 minutes at 18-all.
But LBT started pulling away in the second period, outscoring the Old’Aces, 32-10.
Dimaano and Delos Santos led LBT’s breakaway with the former drilling 10 of his total points in the second quarter and the latter adding seven.
By the end of the first half, LBT was leading by 22, 50-28.
Other LBT players stepped up in the second half giving the Old’Aces a little chance to recover.
Meanwhile, in the 35-and-up division game last Friday, the Old’Aces won the high-scoring match with a 128-122 victory against Samahang Ilokano at Pangasinense.
This was the Old’Aces first win in two games, as John Santos exploded for 51 big points.
Santos scored 10 of the last 12 points of the Old’Aces to lift his team to a six-point win. He had five triples in the game.
Elias Rangamar also helped the Old’Aces cause, as he buried three triples in the fourth quarter and finished with 17 points. Tony Luzama chipped in 18.
Richard Pambid led SIP with 23 points.
