A TOURIST couple lost their money and IDs when their vehicle was burglarized at Paupau Beach on Tuesday night.
The victims were Masao Suga, 37, and Chie Suga, 34.
Acting Department of Public Safety spokesman Sgt. Thomas Blas Jr. said they received a call on the burglary and theft incident at 6:33 p.m.
Blas said a preliminary investigation revealed that the couple had gone to Paupau Beach at around 4 p.m. on Tuesday. They parked their vehicle by a pavilion beachside and went swimming.
When the couple returned to their vehicle later, they discovered that their personal belongings were missing.
The couple lost a brown leather wallet and a fur waist pouch which contained $200, 500 Japanese yen and ID cards.
Two weeks ago, three persons, including a tourist, also lost their money to snatchers in Garapan and Sadog Tasi.
Akinobu Okuda, 42, was walking back to the Hyatt Hotel when three men appeared from behind. They assaulted him and grabbed his Louis Vuitton bag containing $10,000 worth of jewelry.
Two other victims were robbed of their purses in two separate incidents while walking.
Police have yet to arrest the suspects in any of these incidents.
DPS is urging the public to call Crime Stoppers at 234-7272 with any information that would lead to the arrest of the suspects.
