President Remengesau on Tuesday appointed six members of the Palau Tax Review Task Force following a joint resolution establishing a committee to look into proposed changes to our current tax laws.
The president has appointed Casmir Remengesau; Ricardo Bausoch; Surangel Whipps; Kenneth Uyehara; Gov. John Skebong and Priscilla Solablai.
The president said that according to the House Joint No. 7-48-19S, aside from the six members that he has appointed, the Senate will be appointing two and the House of Delegates will also appoint two to form a 10-member panel.
President Remengesau said the task force was created to look into the existing tax law and make recommendations to simplify and come up with an appropriate and long term tax measures.
