Marianas Visiting Nurses is one of the Health Institutions in Saipan providing Health Care Services to patients at home. It is now recognized as an alternative to hospitalization and confinement in nursing homes. Our organization has an important role to play in the health care promotion and an obligation to make a contribution not only to the patient and their family but to the community as well. Our patients deserve to have their needs met with the best care that can be delivered within available resources. Being a health care provider, we also want to make sure that our patients are satisfied with the services that we are giving. We believe that feedback thru testimonials can be a constructive indication of the outcomes and effectiveness of our services. As part of our program, we visited a selection of our patients and obtained their personal testimonials.
Rosario Aldan, was sitting on a chair that afternoon when we visited her and a big smile on her face welcomed us. As we started our conversation, she was so eager to tell us her experiences though she has some difficulty in communicating with us. She said she is very happy to have MVN staff visit her and provides home care with her. Marianas Visiting Nurses team did a great help with her to cope with her daily activities. Her health condition improved gradually with the help of our skilled Nurses and Physical Therapist. As we go along with our conversation, tears fell from her weary eyes. We asked her why is she crying, she gave us a smile instead and said, “I’m happy, very happy”. Mrs. Rosario’s caregiver Ermelita Fernandez, also in her teary eyes told us that Mrs. Rosario consider MVN staff as her own family and not just an ordinary Nurse and Physical Therapist.
Mr. Vicente Diaz together with his wife Josefina Diaz, gave us their home care nursing experiences with Marianas Visiting Nurses. According to Mr. Diaz, home care nursing gave a lot of benefits to patients like him. Aside from being hassle free going to hospitals for his regular check up, it also gave him comfort by just being at home with his family. It also offers big help and support for family who needs assistance in taking care of a sick family member. He commented that MVN staff provide excellent service and he is very satisfied. He also said that MVN staff gave him a lot of help and encouragements to improve his health condition. Mr. Diaz said that MVN staff should continue the excellent services providing home health care to all people.
