TWO more individuals have
been added to the long list of suspects in purse snatchings and robberies
which the Guam Police Department has been investigating.
GPD public affairs officer Allan Guzman said a 51-year-old woman was walking
towards the intersection of Route 16 and Route 27 in Harmon when a man
confronted her.
A masked man grabbed her by the arm and pressed what appeared to
be a sharp object to her side. He demanded that she follow him towards
the secluded area by the Guam Power Authority. The masked man demanded
her money and threatened her, Guzman said.
The woman, out of fear, complied with the masked man and handed over her
money to him, said Guzman. The masked man then fled on foot to an unknown
area.
The suspect is described as possibly of Micronesian descent, standing
5-feet-4-inches to 5-feet-5-inches tall, and weighing 160 to 170 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a red T-shirt with black shorts. He also wore
a black cloth over his face.
The second suspect police are looking for was involved in the robbery
of two female Japanese tourists, both age 21, yesterday morning in Tamuning.
Guzman said after the women went shopping at K-Mart, they walked down
the John F. Kennedy hill in Tamuning towards Tumon. The suspect grabbed
the purse from one of the women. Both women struggled with the suspect,
who overpowered them and was able to get away with the purse.
The suspect fled on foot towards the Harmon Industrial Park area.
Neither of the females was injured in the robbery nor needed medical attention.
The purse contained the money and identification cards of both women,
said Guzman.
The suspect was described as possibly local, standing 5-feet-7-inches
to 5-feet-8-inches tall, weighing 160 to 170 pounds, and of medium athletic
build. He was last seen wearing a black hooded-type sweater and black
pants.
