The physical training test for law enforcers concluded last week.
Vice President and Justice Minister Elias Camsek Chin said that many law enforcers passed the test but some had to take remedial training to pass the test and lose some weight.
Chin said the law enforcement officers who will be undergoing a remedial training were either overweight or had high cholesterol.
He said the officers who will be taking the remedial training should not only be concerned about passing the test but also taking care of their health.
Last Jan. 15, Bureau of Public Safety officers will be undergoing a physical training test to keep them physically fit.
Chin said that each police officers was required to pass three tests, however the test varies according to the weight, height and age of an officer.
The officer has to undergo push-up, sit-up and a 1 and _ mile- run.
Chin said it is critical to the police work that they keep fit.
Chin said the police officers aside from keeping their weight down, have to undergo physical training to improve their stamina and strength.
He added that most of the police officers have begun the exercise to improve their strength and prepare for the test.
Chin said he also joined the training test and passed it.
Chin said he performed 33 push ups and 33 sit-ups in three minutes and 19.50 minutes for the 1.5 mile run.
He said for his age, height and weight he is required to do a 30 push ups and 30 sit up each in three minutes while he has to finish the run in 20 minutes.
He said even the ministry staff took the test and passed it easily.
He said his Executive Assistant Jennifer Anson did 44 push ups and 47 sit ups in 90 seconds while she breezed through the run in only 14 minutes.
