Another copper wire theft

By Cherrie Anne E. Villahermosa
Variety News Staff

DESPITE the recent arrests of seven suspected copper wire thieves, another incident has been reported to the Department of Public Safety.
Acting DPS spokesman Sgt. Thomas Blas Jr. said the latest copper wire theft occurred in Chalan Kanoa District 2 on Monday.
A preliminary investigation disclosed that the suspects climbed a Commonwealth Utilities Corp. power pole near a residence and cut the drop line leading to the house.
DPS said it was a CUC crewman who discovered the missing drop line.
A crew was dispatched earlier by CUC to check a power problem in the area.
Blas said anyone who has information about this crime should call Crime Stoppers at 234-7272.
