A MINOR suspected of snatching a woman’s purse on Wednesday in Chalan Kanoa has been arrested by Department of Public Safety personnel.
The juvenile was arrested in his residence at 7:57 p.m. on Wednesday.
The juvenile was with his mother at the time.
DPS spokeswoman Lei Ogumoro Uludong said the minor was positively identified by a witness as the one who grabbed the purse of Song Lin Jin, 35.
The victim sustained minor knee injuries and was treated by medics.
She was walking on her way home in the early morning on Wednesday west of the Welcome Laundry in Chalan Kanoa when the minor suspect came up from behind her and grabbed her purse.
The victim lost her black and gray purse containing her passport, wallet, $200 and other items. The total value of the stolen property was $340.
Uludong said the minor suspect is now in the custody of the Division of Youth Services.
