Bulaon Grand Slam champion of badminton tourney

Reynold Bulaon was the Grand Slam champion of the Smash For Love badminton tournament over the weekend.
Bulaon grabbed the top spot for the Men’s Single advance Category, he also shared the championship with teammate Victor Aranzuez in the Men’s Doubles category and was awarded the top medal in the Mixed Doubles category with Salome Villaflor.
The tournament ran from Feb. 23 to Feb. 25 with over 50 who registered for the tournament.
Proceeds of the games went to the Palau Red Cross Society, according to Allan Tuppil Palau Badminton Club, head of the organizing committee.
In a score of 21-12, Bulaon beat Taiwanese national Stone Zhang while Mark Lagusad took the bronze.
Bulaon and Aranzuez beat Lagusad and Unadia with 21- 17 in the men’s doubles. Bulaon with Villaflor defeated Taiwanese couple Stone Zhang and Yanjun Zhang with a score of 21-11.
In the Ladies Single, last tournament’s champion Bernadel Enriquez again grabbed the first place.
In the Women’s double’s category, Joan Cruz and Lichelle Alambra were in the first place.
In the beginner’s categoryViola Kanai and Ervin were the champion while in the men’s single intermediate category Tomohiro Odai was the champion.
Tuppil said that the organizers were thankful for the tournament sponsors who assisted in the games.
